Anvil
Re-launches As Internet Society Resource
Free
online magazine provides insight and entertainment
PORTLAND,
Ore. - April 3, 2000 - Anvil Media, Inc. recently announced its
relaunch of Anvil, a free online magazine (http://www.anvil-media.com)
that provides new and unusual perspectives on the issues shaping
todays Internet society. The monthly magazine will explore timely
news, issues and trends relevant to Internet business, marketing,
communications and technology.
"Im
excited to bring Anvil back into the fold," said Kent Lewis,
president of Anvil Media, Inc. "While there are many more ezines
and newsletters now than there were four years ago, I still believe
theres a void in coverage relating to the Internets affect on
modern society."
Lewis
resumes his role as editor-in-chief of Anvil, which he created in
1996. In the past, Anvil covered Internet marketing and communications-related
topics ranging from Internet privacy and security
issues to HDTV, all from an advertising, public relations or Web
development perspective. Originating as an email-based newsletter,
the new Anvil will take on a Web-based magazine (ezine) format.
"Anvil
was one of the best newsletters I received a few years back,"
said Fred Wilson, managing partner at Flatiron Partners. "I
was able to stay on top of industry news and trends, and I look
forward to the new format."
Anvil
offers insightful, intelligent and often comedic commentary similar
to ezines like Salon, Suck and The Onion. The new format has been
simplified and expanded to reach a broader audience. Contributors
will write about news, issues and trends in todays Internet society.
In addition, future issues will be more broadly focused, with the
primary mission being to inform and entertain. Anyone can visit
or subscribe to receive email updates when new content is posted.
