Ten Things To Do Before 2000
By Kent Lewis
1.
Take out a few hundred dollars in cash, stock up on gold coins.
Store in a strongbox or safe, you can't count on accessing the bank's
ATM, tellers or safe deposit boxes.
2. Make hard copies and backup disks of all financial information,
store in a fireproof place.
3. Fill up your gas tank(s), no telling what the electronic gas
pumps will do.
4. Back up your computer, print out the critical stuff.
5. Unplug everything you don't want to lose when the power surge
hits.
6. Don't take any trips. Stay at home and read a book. Planes, trains
and automobiles are high-risk in the early days of the New Year.
7. Don't freak out about bills, they will likely be wrong as 2000
rolls around.
8. Take the stairs, walk or bike when you can.
9. Learn COBOL.
10. Stock up on foods and non-perishables, who knows how distributors
will be affected.
