In
this month's issue of Anvil, we will provide insight into the many
facets of e-commerce. According to What Is?, e-commerce, or electronic
commerce, "is the buying and selling of goods and services
on the Internet, especially the World Wide Web. In practice, this
term and a new term, 'e-business,' are often used interchangeably.
For online retail selling, the term 'e-tailing' is sometimes used."
Technically speaking, this definition may be too broad. We may be
able to define e-commerce simply as the exchange of data, whether
it be ideas, cash or Word documents. Regardless, e-commerce will
affect your life in the near future, if it hasn't already.
