*Anvil
Overview
With a new site on the way, and the holiday season here, I thought
now would be a good time to answer some common questions. As a side
note, this information will be available on the Web site.
-Whats
Anvil?
Anvil is a free weekly interactive newsletter providing insight
into online industry news, issues and trends. Originally, I designed
Anvil as a communications tool between VIVOMEDIA employees and clients.
As marketing manager for a Web design, hosting and marketing firm,
I wanted to make sure our clients and employees were on the same
page. As I spent increasingly more time online researching news
and issues for clients, I realized the value of the information,
and decided to take it external. Within the first week, Anvil membership
rose 120. The current subscriber base is around 200, resulting strictly
from word-of-mouth. I will continue to keep this service free as
long as possible.
-Who
is Mr. Editor Person?
Im Kent Lewis, marketing manager for VIVOMEDIA. At VIVOMEDIA, Im
responsible for marketing all of our client sites through market
research, online promotion, media relations and banner advertising.
I also provide marketing services to companies outside our current
Web design client list. As managing editor of Anvil, I scour the
Internet each day, looking for news fit for Anvil. I try to pick
stories of great importance in the near future, give a brief overview,
and make editorial comments where necessary. Keep in mind, views
expressed in Anvil, are mine alone, and should not reflect on VIVOMEDIA
or related clients.
-Why
Design, Hosting and Marketing?
These sections relate directly to VIVOMEDIAs core competencies.
The Design section focuses on issues and trends relating to the
design of Web, intranet or kiosk applications, from operating systems
to applets. The Hosting section feature news and technology relating
to Internet access, from hardware and software to legal issues.
The Marketing section provides information and tips regarding successful
online marketing, including market research, online promotion, media
relations and banner advertising. Top Web Picks include a wide range
of sites, whether fun, informative or just weird.
-Whats
VIVOMEDIA.
VIVOMEDIA is an interactive marketing communications company specializing
in design, production, hosting and marketing of Web, intranet and
kiosk applications. Visit the Web site at http://www.vivo-media.com
or send email to yes@vivo-media.com for more information regarding
our clients and services.
-Why
Anvil?
Why not, it has a nice ring to it. Besides, The Straight Dope was
already taken.
-When
does Anvil come out?
Anvil is sent via email, and will be available on the Web site each
Friday morning, barring holidays and hangovers.
-Where
can I get past issues of Anvil?
Easy, just check the Archive section of the Web site at http://www.anvil-media.com.
-How
do I subscribe?
Thats even easier, just follow the directions at the bottom of
each newsletter, or check the About section of the Web site. Just
in case, send subscribe news (sans quotes) in the body of your
message to majorvivo@vivo-media.com.
-Do
you really answer comments, questions and feedback via email?
Of course, silly. Just send them to editor@anvil-media.com.
