general
information | Kent Lewis biography
Founded
in 2000 by Kent Lewis, Anvil is a marketing
consultancy specializing in solving business problems via the Internet.
Anvils clients benefit from a broad
array of services designed to increase
revenue and decrease costs while supporting branding and marketing
initiatives. Anvil is continually building relationships with partners
to better service existing clients.
The
origins of Anvil can be traced back to 1996, when Kent Lewis created
a free weekly
email newsletter covering the Internet industry. Anvil evolved
over the years into a monthly ezine "unencumbered
by relevance" that is less promotional and more of a creative
outlet. After leaving an agency he helped co-found in 1999, Lewis
decided to hang a shingle of his own and elected to stick with a
name that had built-in equity.
The
consultancy and the ezine are still going strong, but Lewis needed
more stimuli. In 2000, he founded pdxMindShare,
a filtered-networking event focusing on creating meaningful professional
connections. Lewis has also been an adjunct professor at Portland
State University for the past few years and sits on two industry
organization boards. For more information, check out his biography.
